About this event
Join MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center at the annual Wave of Light event supporting families grieving the loss of their babies. All are welcome to attend, regardless of where you are in your grieving process.The event starts at 6:30 p.m. inside MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center with music, fellowship and the option to decorate luminary bags or paint children’s faces. At around 7 p.m., we will read the names of the babies who are no longer with us. After that, we will move outside to light candles or luminaries to honor pregnancies and infants who are gone but not forgotten.
People around the world will light candles at 7 p.m. local time, creating a global “Wave of Light” in memory of those who have experienced miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, sudden infant death syndrome and other causes of infant loss.
