We are excited to share with you that MercyOne Des Moines Foundation is joining Trinity Health. Our mission remains the same: MercyOne Des Moines Foundation will continue to exist and serve our local community by connecting individuals to critical needs by securing vital funding that ensures equal access, clinical excellence and high quality care for all in Central Iowa.

Philanthropy gifts will continue to stay local, as they always have since our inception. Our name and look will remain the same, as well.

“We are happy to join the Trinity family,” said MercyOne Des Moines Foundation Shannon Cofield. “We continue to remain focused on our mission to serve our donors here locally and connect them with needs at MercyOne Central Iowa.”

MercyOne is fully becoming one across the entire system. Since 1998, MercyOne has operated under a joint operating agreement between not-for-profit Catholic health care organizations Trinity Health and Catholic Health Initiatives, which is now CommonSpirit Health. Trinity Health and CommonSpirit announced in mid-April they had signed an agreement for Trinity Health to become the sole parent organization for MercyOne Central Iowa.
