The MercyOne Smoking Cessation Program is designed to help you quit smoking by providing you with the tools and support you need to succeed. We understand that quitting smoking is not easy, and our team is here to help with personalized care options available.
Individualized counseling
Our trained counselor will work with you to develop a personalized quit plan that works for you. We will help you identify your triggers and develop coping strategies to overcome them.
Nicotine replacement therapy
We offer a variety of nicotine replacement therapy options, including patches, gum, nasal spray and lozenges to help manage your cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
Medications to help with cravings and symptoms
We can prescribe medications to help control your tobacco cravings and make quitting easier. These include:
- Bupropion SR to help lower the urge to smoke and help with withdrawal symptoms. This can make quitting easier to deal with.
- Varenicline to lower your cravings for cigarettes and makes smoking less enjoyable.
Education and resources
We will provide educational materials and resources to help you understand the benefits of quitting smoking and the risks of continuing to smoke.

MercyOne Genesis Tobacco Cessation Program Information
Our program addresses both the physical addition to nicotine and the psychological addition to the act of using tobacco. We can:
- help determine personal reasons for quitting
- show ways to deal with urges
- help determine which nicotine replacement therapy will work best for individuals
- teach ways to deal with a relapse
- demonstrate methods of stress management
Our Tobacco Cessation Program is:
- 4 session programs
- once a week for 4 weeks
- 1 to 1 1/2-hour sessions
- cost is $100 for all 4 sessions
- some insurances cover the cost, or at least part of it
