LucyFor over 100 years, students have come to Mercy College of Health Sciences to be transformed into successful health care professionals, students like Lucy Makokha.

Lucy Makokha, a nursing student at Mercy College, is a past recipient of the Dr. E.T. Scales African American Scholarship Endowed Fund, which is a scholarship funded through donor support.

“This scholarship provided me with very valuable funding which enabled me to work toward my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree,” said Lucy.

Lucy is thriving in her program and appreciates the quality of education provide by Mercy College. She is looking forward to serving the community with compassionate care.

Mercy College offers over $300,000 in scholarships each year for students of merit and in financial need. Contributions made to the general scholarship fund or to one of the many endowed scholarship funds directly impact students and help them continue with their education. As the need for quality health care workers grows, the value in providing educational support for Mercy College students becomes even more apparent.

“Please know that your contribution has positively impacted my life,” said Lucy.
