How to Become a MercyOne Volunteer
- Age Requirement – Must be 16 years or older
- Application Process – Complete application, background checks, health assessment, reference verification, and interview(s)
- Health Requirements – Proof of current immunizations required
- Time Commitment – Minimum 6 months of service or 84 hours per year (e hours/week or for duration of special events
- For students – two (2) semesters commitment per calendar year
- Training -- Attend orientation, training, and continuing education as required
Adult Volunteers (Ages 18+)
- Perfect for: Anyone interested in getting involved.
- Requirements:
- At least 18 years old
- Able to clear required criminal background and registered offender check and required health screening
- Able to meet the specific skills and knowledge requirements for volunteer opportunities

Teen Volunteers (Ages 16-17)
- Perfect for: High school students exploring health care careers and giving back to their community.\
- Requirements:
- At least 16 years old
- Parental/Guardian consent required
- Currently enrolled in school with good academic standing or pursuing a GED
- 4-month minimum commitment
- Able to clear required criminal background and registered offender check and required health screening.
- Able to meet the specific skills and knowledge requirements for volunteer opportunities

College Student Volunteers (Ages 18+)
- Perfect for: College students pursuing health care careers or seeking meaningful service opportunities.
- Requirements:
- At least 18 years old withing 60 days of program start
- Two-semester commitment (72 total hours)
- Three-hour weekly shifts
- College enrollment not required (except for Student Leader Volunteers)
- Complete all Adult Volunteer requirements
- Program and Registration Dates:
- Fall Semester: September 15 - December 20
- Registration: July 15 - August 29
- Spring Semester: January 15 - April 30
- Registration: November 1 - December 15
- Summer Session: June 15 - August 31
- Registration: April 14 - June 1
- Fall Semester: September 15 - December 20
