About

Abbey Modlin, DNP, ARNP, specializes in Endocrinology at MercyOne Des Moines Diabetes & Endocrinology Care in Des Moines, Iowa.

I grew up on a farm outside of Perry where my family still resides. I moved to Des Moines when I started attending Grand View University for my Bachelors in Nursing Degree. I graduated in 2012 and started my career as a nurse at MercyOne hospital. I worked on a cardiac/telemetry floor for 5 years. In 2014 I went back to school to get my family nurse practitioner degree at Creighton University. I graduated with my Doctorate in 2017. I worked for a period of time in vascular surgery before starting at MercyOne Diabetes and Endocrinology in 2019.

I primarily focus on diabetes but can also manage hypothyroidism, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Diabetes includes type 1 and type 2. I'm knowledgeable in insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems. I also implant the Eversense CGM.
