MercyOne Genesis Foundation
Our Mission
The mission of Genesis Health Services Foundation is to raise and distribute resources to enhance the delivery of care through Genesis Health System.
Our Vision
We ensure the future of our region's healthcare.
In simple language, the Genesis Health Services Foundation (GHSF) engages donors to save lives, cure the sick, relieve suffering, comfort the dying, bring new life to birth, and keep people healthy. Our donors' impact is local, affecting their families and neighbors living in the Eastern Iowa, Western Illinois communities served by the Genesis Health System (GHS).
The Genesis Health Services Foundation inspires donors to charitably invest in the healthcare of the greater Quad Cities region. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Foundation is governed by a group of dedicated volunteers who comprise the Board of Directors.
Sara Hodgini, Certified Fundraising Executive, leads the Foundation as the Executive Director. Grant making is focused on the healthcare needs of the patients and families served by Genesis Health System. The Foundation's programs include:
- The Jim Victor Vision Fund
- NFTS Birth and Bereavement Suite
-

Gillian Christy, a Davenport native, created the one-of-a-kind Winding Walk artwork that is located along a peaceful walk outside of the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. This stainless-steel column was made possible through donations by benefactors including Gillian's parents, Rebecca and Mark Christy. The sculpture is located along a peaceful, natural walk outside the hospice house.
Winding Walk features a winding stairway and an opened window with shutters. The natural element found in the window is a feather that has landed. Gillian Christy said the elements of nature in Winding Walk "express the flexibilities and intricacies of life.''
In her artwork, Gillian said she sets out to express a meaningful story, whether it is about events in her life or stories found within a community.
A 1997 graduate of Davenport West High School, Gillian Christy received a degree in fine arts from the University of Northern Iowa. She is based in Providence, R.I..
Gillian has completed many public art commissions and continually exhibits artwork nationally. Gillian's work is also on display locally at Davenport West High School and Faith United Church of Christ in Davenport.
