About

Tonya Gray, MD, is a family medicine provider at MercyOne Forest Park Family Medicine. She practices a full range of family medicine with extra certifications in obesity, menopause and travel medicine.

Dr. Gray worked as a nursing assistant in high school and college and entered the field of medicine because it seemed like the hardest thing to do at the time, and it ended up being a great fit. She loves the people, the challenges and the opportunity to learn every day. Medicine also allows her to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Dr. Gray grew up on a hog and grain farm in northern Iowa (Titonka/Buffalo Center area) and remains involved with agriculture.  She's married to Tim Mulholland. MD, a urologist, and is mom to three adult children and numerous cats and dogs. Her hobbies include weather reporting, gardening, and all things nature/outdoors.

Dr. Gray is a phenomenal practitioner--thorough, up to date, friendly, and empathic. I feel fortunate to be on her patient roster. She answers my messages on My Chart quickly, refills my meds promptly as well. I feel that my care is well managed by her and her nursing staff--and they are the reason I stay with this Mercyone clinic. All providers at this clinic are excellent--they should be appreciated by the organization-as choosing to practice there at this moment in time would seem to be less than appealing to providers looking for a clinic they can call "home".

Dr gray is a very knowledgeable provider. She takes time to explain things whether it is for this particular visit or just a random question that I would like answered. If she isn’t sure of an answer she takes the time to actually educate herself and provides an answer to me.
