He could have gone for extra treatment such as esophageal echocardiogram or cardio version for A-Fib, but opted for increasing INR, a more benign less expensive, invasive approach.

The appointment originally set was canceled. It was for one of Dr Abrich,so assistance. It was a hospital followup from a heart cath and stent addition. When I arrived I was told that my appt was canceled. However, i was not told. I was upset and also experiencing heart irregularities at the time. I was then told to sit down and wait. After a while I was told Dr Maqsood's nurse would see me. She did and was very good dealing with vitals and learning about my situation. She also did an ECG. She shared all that with Dr Magsood who examined me. He took time for my questions, made a medicine change, and was very assuring. I appreciated it very much.

In 2010 Dr. Ahsan was in the process of installing a cardiac stent when he realized that it would be inadequate, and would fail. He instead had me go to Iowa City where I underwent cardiac bypass surgery. In the years since he has installed 4 stents; and two years ago cleared a 95% blockage in one stent. I have been doing fine since then. I believe beyond a doubt that Dr. Ahsan and Iowa City surgeons have given me the last 16 years of life.
