Dallas was born and raised in Buffalo, Wyoming. He attended undergraduate school at Carroll College in Helena, Montana where he majored in Spanish with a minor in chemistry. He attended Physician Assistant school at Touro College, Manhattan Campus, in New York City where he won the Maimonedes Award for highest academic standing both for the academic and clinic year. He has worked in Des Moines, Iowa, in Internal Medicine with a focus in diabetes for his entire 17 year career, starting in private practice in 2004 at Diagnostic and Internal Medicine and the Diabetes Center and then transitioning to MercyOne in 2011. He has been a certified diabetes educator since 2008 and is the Director of MercyOne Diabetes center that is embedded at MercyOne Central Campus. He is adjunct faculty at Des Moines University and a long-time preceptor for PA students. He was awarded the Physician Assistant of the Year in 2017 by the Iowa Physician Assistant Society.
