Erin Voelschow, DO, is a primary care physician at MercyOne Urbandale Internal Medicine.

“My philosophy of care is to listen to and be an advocate for my patients, and to work together with them to help improve their health and preventive care,” said Erin. “I enjoy internal medicine because it allows me to work with patients to come up with an individualized plan to help them meet their health and wellness goals.”

Erin is an Iowa native who graduated from medical school in Colorado at Rocky Vista University. She then returned to Iowa to complete her residency at MercyOne Des Moines Internal Medicine Residency.

“One of my interests is women’s health, particularly menopause care. I am working towards obtaining my certification as a North American Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner (NCMP),” said Erin when asked about an area of passion.

Outside of medicine, Erin likes to spend time biking, checking out new restaurants, reading fiction books for fun and watching movies on Netflix.
