MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is proud to be chosen for this honor out of the 100 Level IV Trauma Centers in the State of Iowa.

Excerpt from the Iowa Health and Human Services media release:
MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is located on Iowa’s Eastern border along the Mississippi River in Clinton County. Like many small Level IVs across the state, resources are thin, and Trauma Nurse Coordinators wear many hats. Morgan Maddasion, the Trauma Nurse Coordinator for MercyOne Clinton, defies the law of "only 24 hours in a day" and finds a way to continuously engage colleagues and improve the trauma program at this essential Level IV Trauma Care Facility. Maddasion has creatively applied meaningful education to colleagues throughout the hospital, and her enthusiasm for performance improvement is evident.

The Level IV trauma center offers 24/7 anesthesia services and operating room capabilities, as well as general surgery, urology, podiatry, ophthalmology, obstetrics, pain management, cancer care, primary care, and ancillary services like radiology and laboratory. The trauma program receives additional support from Shelly Price, the trauma registrar; Melissa Bitner, the emergency department director; and David Kavanaugh, DO, the emergency department medical director.

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is committed to performance improvement, and their dedication to the people of their community is reflected in their day-to-day work. Please join me in congratulating MercyOne Clinton Medical Center and its representatives as they accept this award.
