Charity helps bring new equipment to the MercyOne Dubuque Birth Center and NICU
November 17, 2025Thanks to a generous grant from Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa, babies born at MercyOne Dubuque Birth Center and treated in the Level II NICU will benefit from a piece of new technology.
The MercyOne Dubuque Foundation recently received a grant to fund BERAphone hearing screener. The handheld device can be easily moved in and out of patients’ rooms to complete the hearing screening.
“This essential piece of screening equipment will help the expert care team quickly identify any concerns with hearing for our most precious bundles of joy and help lead them towards the best possible outcome,” said Amy Wright, maternal child services director, MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center.
The MercyOne Dubuque Foundation provides the philanthropic support to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center through contributions from local businesses, corporations, employees, physicians and individuals.
“The MercyOne Dubuque Foundation is grateful to Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa for its generous support of MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center and other deserving nonprofits in the area,” said David Moore, chief development officer, MercyOne Dubuque Foundation.
