MercyOne Family Medicine will be acquired by Cherokee Regional Medical Center by December 29. To continue MercyOne’s Mission to provide high-quality patient care while adapting to the current needs of our communities and our state, MercyOne must regularly evaluate how to realign and redistribute resources. Given current economic and workforce challenges, MercyOne is required to make strategic, difficult decisions for our organization.

Patients will be notified to discuss their options for continuing care at Cherokee Regional Medical Center that are most convenient for them. Impacted colleagues will have the opportunity to transfer to other positions within Cherokee Regional Medical Center, and their human resources team will support them through this process.

“To continue our Mission of providing high-quality patient care, MercyOne will continuously evaluate how we can use resources to adapt and meet the current needs of our communities and our state,” said Bob Ritz, MercyOne President and CEO. “Providing patient and colleague care will always be our top priority. We will work diligently to increase access to care and improve health care across Iowa.”
