Gorana Zekanovic, ARNP, AGACNP-BC, FNP is a provider at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.
Dr. Zekanovic states, “Ever since I was a young girl, I have always been passionate about helping others and making a difference in their lives,” says Dr. Zekanovic. “I believe it is important to take a holistic approach when it comes to patient care by putting yourself in their shoes and using evidence-based practice to determine the right plan of care.”
Dr. Zekanovic received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and her Master of Science in Nursing from Allen College in Waterloo, Iowa. She is fluent in both English and Bosnian.
“I enjoy coming to work knowing that I will make a positive impact on my patient's surgical experience and seeing them maintain or regain their health,” says Dr. Zekanovic. “At MercyOne we are all a team and work together to provide the best personalized care and experience every time.”
Dr. Zekanovic has clinical interest in general surgery, wound care, abscess drainage and suture/staple removal.
