About

Juan Colon Jr., PsyD, is a neuropsychologist at MercyOne Des Moines Neuropsychology. He provides care for children and adults experiencing:

  • Memory concerns
  • Attention difficulties
  • Executive functioning challenges
  • Cognitive changes related to neurological, medical or psychological conditions

He also performs comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to help you better understand your cognitive strengths and areas of concern.

As a Lifespan Neuropsychology Fellow, Dr. Colon is passionate about helping you and your family gain a deeper understanding of how thinking, learning and behavior are affected by cognitive difficulties. What he enjoys most about neuropsychology is getting to know you, hearing your story and helping provide answers to concerns that affect your everyday life.

Dr. Colon takes a whole-person approach to care, considering your background, culture, family, education and life experiences. He strives to create an environment where you feel comfortable, heard and respected throughout the evaluation process. He also has a strong interest in serving individuals and families from diverse and underserved communities.

Outside of work, Dr. Colon enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. Family is very important to him, and he values opportunities to explore new places and activities together. He also enjoys watching movies and television, cooking and trying new foods.
