Waterloo, Iowa; June 3, 2026 – Raffle ticket sales for a chance to win a 1978 25th Anniversary edition Chevrolet Corvette have been officially closed due to the vehicle being involved in an accident while en route to an event.

The driver was injured but fortunately is now recovering at home. However, the Corvette has been totaled and is no longer drivable.

All raffle participants may request a refund or donate their raffle purchase to the cause. For questions, or to request a refund, please refer to this email: acetunes2025@gmail.com. The refund request deadline is June 30. Please allow 2–4 weeks after submitting your request to receive your refund check by mail. If we do not hear back from you by the June 30 deadline we will consider your raffle purchase as a donation.

We extend our gratitude to the many generous donors, including Ace Customs, Aikey Auto Salvage, Cedar Falls Community Credit Union (CFCCU). Along with this we want to thank Coloff Media – Radio Stations, KWWL-TV, and The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, as well as all supporters who have contributed to this effort and shown concern for the driver’s well-being. While the Corvette can no longer serve as the raffle’s winning prize, the mission of the MercyOne Foundations fundraiser, serving Cedar Falls and Waterloo, remains critical.

Our commitment to advancing cancer care continues as we work to raise funds for a new linear accelerator, a critical piece of equipment for radiation therapy that helps deliver precise treatment with fewer side effects and better patient outcomes.

If you would still like to support this important cause, new donations can be made at https://www.mercyone.org/northeastiowa/giving/waterloo-foundation. Please note that any new contributions will not be associated with the prior raffle and will not be eligible for a refund.

“We are incredibly grateful to our donors and supporters of this cause, especially that the driver of the vehicle is okay,” said Brad Brooks, DC, MercyOne Northeast Iowa Foundation Trustee. “This initiative began with patients in mind and will continue with patients in mind. Our need for a linear accelerator remains very real and will make a significant impact on cancer patients in this area.”
