MercyOne North Iowa Foundation Receives $10,000 Grant from Hanson Family Foundation to Support Family Connections Program

The MercyOne North Iowa Foundation is proud to announce a $10,000 grant from the John K. & Luise V. Hanson Foundation in support of its Family Connections program, which provides critical early childhood and parenting support to families across 15 counties in northern Iowa.

The Family Connections program pairs both first-time parents and growing families with family support workers who offer in-home visits, developmental screenings, parenting education and access to essential supplies, such as car seats and baby-proofing tools. This grant will help sustain the program’s reach and impact at a time when public funding has declined.

“This generous gift from the Hanson Family Foundation ensures that families in our rural communities continue to receive the support they need during the most formative years of a child’s life,” said Chelsie Hinton, Family Connections coordinator.
