Independent Living
Maintaining independence is important but so is having access to the right care when and where you need it. That's why MercyOne Genesis has partnered with local independent living facilities to provide access to a full continuum of care.
Assistance When Needed
Transitioning to an independent living facility can be tough. For some, it feels like an admission of helplessness. But in reality it's just the opposite.
At an independent living facility, assistance is provided only when you need it. This keeps you healthy and independent even longer.
Some of the routine services provided include:
- On-site visits with a nurse practitioner
- Housekeeping
- Dining
- Entertainment and group activities like outings, performances, etc.
A Full Continuum of Care
Very few people like going to the hospital. MercyOne Genesis has partnered with local independent living facilities to provide access to nurse practitioners, meaning residents can get routine medical care on-site rather than having to travel to an office.
What does this mean? A decreased chance of admission to an acute care facility while maintaining independence. It also provides peace-of-mind for family and friends.
And when necessary, our partner facilities will collaborate with other areas in MercyOne Genesis Health System and outside facilities to ensure continued compassionate, quality care. This can include:
- Referral to an assisted living or skilled nursing facility
- Home medical equipment
- Physical Therapy
- Palliative Care
- Hospice and home health
