Internal Medicine Residency

Welcome From The Residents and Faculty!
Welcome to the MercyOne North Iowa Internal Medicine Residency Program. We are excited to share more about our program with you.
Our program features an 18-bed, resident-run critical care unit, supervised by experienced critical care physicians. By the end of the intern year, most residents gain hands-on procedural experience and become independently competent in performing ICU procedures.
Beyond robust clinical training, we prioritize wellness and work-life balance. We host an annual residency retreat and frequently organize outdoor dinners, social events, welcome picnics, and boating activities for the entire residency group.
We are committed to academic success and offer ample opportunities for research and QI project initiatives. Our comprehensive didactic curriculum includes hands-on procedural training, journal clubs, guest lectures, and grand rounds led by residents and faculty, all designed to expand our clinical knowledge and hands-on patient care skills.
Mason City is a wonderful, safe small town to live in. You won't encounter traffic jams, and you can reach any destination in town within 15 minutes. The town has a small airport, and major cities are just a few hours away.
Lastly, we are a group of passionate individuals who genuinely enjoy each other's company and thrive in a positive environment that fosters professional growth.
We look forward to meeting you and hope you consider us in your academic journey.
