Who We Are
MercyOne North Iowa Foundation was established in 1993 as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. The foundation board of directors and staff build partnerships with community members and organizations to raise philanthropic funds to strengthen MercyOne’s Mission to provide a healing ministry to North Iowans and compassionate care to our most vulnerable neighbors.
Philanthropy has been a part of our MercyOne culture since our founding more than 100 years ago. Our founders, The Sisters of Mercy, established a missional commitment to care for the poor and those in need which continues to this day. While MercyOne North Iowa is a nationally recognized regional health center, we are also a not-for-profit organization giving back to North Iowa every year millions of dollars in health care and community benefit.
Over the years, our donors have helped grow our mission by investing millions of dollars in critical service line expansions, building renovations, innovative technologies, medical education and patient support. All philanthropic giving supports our Mission and improves the personalized care we’re able to provide our patients every day.
