Mercy Medical CenterMercyOne North Iowa offers the best of all worlds: the family atmosphere of a small health care center along with the technology, services and resources of a major, modern medical facility.

As the major referral center for North Central Iowa and Southern Minnesota, MercyOne North Iowa is a secondary level health care provider offering some tertiary level services. The outstanding variety and quality of the medical staff is the key reason MercyOne North Iowa has experienced phenomenal growth in recent years in services and numbers of patients and staff.

MercyOne Family Clinics

MercyOne North Iowa is committed to supporting primary health care evidenced by its contracts with seven community hospitals and ownership and management of over 30 family medicine clinics (MercyOne Family Clinics) across North Central Iowa and Southern Minnesota with over 120 contracts for professional services with area health care facilities.

The MercyOne Family Medicine Residency is a member of MercyOne Family Clinics. The MercyOne Family Clinics network is a "group practice without walls" and is recognized as an innovative leader in addressing the challenges facing rural health care today. This leadership is the result of the size and strength of the clinic network and the governance structure, which involves physicians in setting strategic directions, making policy, and providing input into operational decisions.

A significant number of physicians within MercyOne Family Clinics are graduates of our residency program. The many clinics of the network provide opportunities to residents for both rural precepting and elective time.
